  • Not many mainstream games have Linux clients since Microsoft pays companies off to only produce windows versions.
  • It forces new users to learn about *nix OSes and computers in general in order to properly use and maintain it.

Pros
  • Extremely fast compared to windows.
  • Open source/free
  • Since the Linux community only makes up about 3% of computers, it's extremely rare to encounter malicious programs or viruses.
  • Multiple partitions rather than everything in one C:\ partition.
  • Can run on practically every architecture. (Even routers, game consoles, kerosene powered cheese graters, etc...)
  • LOTS of support from the Linux community.
